QR Data Sync: Tests

Before running these tests, make sure you have two devices, and at least one of them has a camera.

Steps To Run Tests:

  1. Open this test-bed on two devices
  2. On a device with a camera, click the "receive data" button
  3. On the sending device, click the "send data" button, and fill in name and note. Optionally check the "Include random string" checkbox (just to lengthen the data for more frames).
  4. Click "Start Sending..." button
  5. Hold up the screen of the sending device up to the camera of the receiving device, positioning the animated QR codes so they are visible inside the yellow/orange brackets displayed on the receiving device's screen. Hold the device still while all frames are read.
  6. Notice the frame count will go up as frames are read. Also notice the "Data Set ID" will match on both devices.
  7. Be patient, as it may take a few seconds to complete all frame reading, if any frames are missed and the loop of frame animations has to go around again.
  8. Once all frames are read successfully, the receiving device will auto-close the dialog, and render the received data down in the list below.
  9. Click "Done" on the sending device.
  10. If both devices have cameras, reverse their roles and complete the same steps.
